Roles & Responsibilites

  • Consults with existing and potential clients to assess and understand their heat treatment needs.
  • Accurately prepares quotes.
  • Follow up on requests for quotes and create opportunity pipeline of new business.
  • Drafts or assists with the drafting of presentations and other documentation and materials that explain products and services to customers.
  • Provides expertise and support to sales teams to communicate products, services, and client needs.
  • Proposes improved materials or products to customers and explains benefits of changes.
  • Provides support to customers and works to resolve problems.
  • Applies knowledge of the field and product features to match products to the needs of clients.
  • Answers inquiries from clients concerning products, their uses, and the industry at large.
  • Collaborates with purchasing departments, managers, and other staff to confirm that orders are processed with accuracy and efficiency and products are distributed properly.
  • Periodically prepares and reports results, status of accounts, and leads to manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Specific Work Hours: 

  • Monday-Thursday (9 hours)
  • Friday (4 hours)
  • Some flexibility available

Requirements

Required:

  • Excellent sales and customer service skills with a proven ability to explain technical products to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to travel nationally.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or field related to products and services being sold preferred.
  • 3+ years of heat treating industry experience required.

Attributes:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to apply engineering, technology, or other related principles to sales.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
