Commercial PTFE Coating

For metal applications, such as cookware and machinery components, polytetrafluoroethylene coating reduces friction, making surfaces easier to clean and improving operational efficiency. On stainless steel, PTFE coatings provide additional corrosion resistance and can prevent galling and seizing in mechanical parts. When applied to ceramic surfaces, PTFE coatings enhance their non-stick properties, making them suitable for cookware and industrial applications where low friction and easy release of materials are essential.

Ceramic Coating vs. Teflon Coating

Ceramic and Teflon coatings differ primarily in their composition and application. Ceramic coatings are typically made from inorganic materials like silica and titanium dioxide, providing a hard, durable layer that enhances scratch resistance and heat resistance in applications such as automotive paint protection or cookware.

On the other hand, Teflon coatings use polytetrafluoroethylene, known for its excellent non-stick properties and resistance to chemicals and high temperatures. Teflon coatings are commonly applied — usually via spray gun — on cookware, industrial applications and metal machinery components where low friction and easy cleanup are critical.
